Center for Metals in Biological Systems (cMBS)

Mission:
To provide a center of expertise in metals in natural and synthetic materials focused on structure-function relationships and the development of new applications.

To foster the generation and dissemination of scientific knowledge focused on metals in natural and synthetic materials.

To enhance research collaborations, education, and training for students, research associates, postdoctoral fellows and faculty through greater interaction with local educational and research institutions, and governmental agencies.

Overview:
The cMBS is an interdisciplinary organization of faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students from the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Biological Sciences.

The cMBS seeks to provide an exciting and stimulating learning environment for the advancement of understanding the diverse roles and applications of metal ions in biological systems.
