Exploring the Environment of China – 2007

Qingdao

Qingdao (known better in the west as Tsingtao) is a sub-provincial city in eastern Shandong province.  Lying across the Shandong Peninsula while looking out to the  Yellow Sea, Qingdao today is a major seaport, naval base and industrial center. It is also the site of the Tsingtao Brewery.

This seaside city blends traditional history and culture with a new and evolving China.  From the visiting Taoist temples at Laoshan mountain to touring the Tsingtao beer museum during the International Beer Festival, the over seven million inhabitants of Qingdao are generous and welcoming.
