James Pinta

Dr. James Pinta has over twenty years of diversified experience in geology, geochemistry, and hydrogeology applied to solving problems in environmental science and engineering management. Currently, Pinta serves as principal geologist for URS Corporation. Previously, he worked as an independent environmental consultant, Operations Manager with Philip Environmental Services in Pittsburgh, and project manager with Chester Engineers. He has managed projects involving industrial site redevelopment (brownfields), site geologic and hydrogeologic characterization, site contamination studies, and more. Pinta holds his B.A. in geology from Lawrence University, his M.S. in geological sciences from the University of Wisconsin, and earned his Ph.D. in geochemistry and mineralogy from the Pennsylvania State University.
