Kyle W. Selcer
Kyle W. Selcer, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at Duquesne University, received B.S. and M.S. degree from the University of Texas-Pan American and a Ph.D. degree from Texas Tech University. Dr. Selcer's early training was in the area of evolutionary ecology, particularly reproduction in lizards. Later, he shifted this focus more towards cellular and molecular biology. Dr. Selcer's current research is broadly defined as comparative endocrinology. Projects in his laboratory investigate environmental toxicants that disrupt the endocrine system, the role of steroids in reproduction of reptiles and amphibians and new drugs for the treatment of estrogen-dependent breast cancer.
