John F. Stolz

John F. Stolz, Professor of Biology at Duquesne University, holds a B.S. degree from Fordham University and a Ph.D. from Boston University. He is a microbial ecologist interested in the abundance and distribution of microbial species in stratified microbial ecosystems and the function of prokaryotes in biogeochemical cycles.

His current research centers on the physiology and biochemistry of microbial arsenate, selenate, and nitrate reduction.
