Robert Volkmar
Bob Volkmar, M.S., QEP currently serves as the interim director of the Center for Environmental Research & Education. He began teaching at Duquesne as an adjunct instructor in 1997 and joined CERE full time as an instructor and the coordinator of the Master of Environmental Management online degree program. He has taught a variety of courses, both in the classroom and online, at Duquesne University. Bob also teaches two courses in environmental policy and management in the U.S. in the International Master of Environmental Science (IMES) Program at the University of Cologne in Germany.
Bob began his career as an environmental scientist with Michael Baker Corporation, a large civil engineering firm headquartered in Pittsburgh. After a 16-year career in environmental consulting, he moved to industry and spent the next ten years as the manager of environmental affairs for Aristech Chemical Corporation, a national manufacturer of plastics and organic chemicals.
Prior to teaching at Duquesne, Bob taught environmental science and management courses as an adjunct instructor at LaRoche College and Robert Morris University in Pittsburg. Bob holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Gannon University and a M.S. degree in Environmental Science from West Virginia University.
