The Summer Research Symposium is a celebration of undergraduate research in the greater Pittsburgh area. Undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty come together to exhibit posters and presentations on scientific research. The program will begin at 9 a.m. with registration, a continental breakfast and poster set-up. Dr. Joseph Glorioso, of the University of Pittsburgh, will present the keynote address. A plenary session, including seven oral presentations by students, follows the address. Lunch, provided by the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, will be served at 1 p.m. The poster session will begin immediately after lunch.

Participants planning to attend lunch must R.S.V.P. by Friday, July 20. Lunch is free of charge to all participants and guests. It is not necessary to present a poster or oral presentation in order to attend lunch. Please R.S.V.P. by sending an email to urp@duq.edu
Poster abstracts must be received by Wednesday, July 11. Abstracts must be emailed to urp@duq.edu. All abstracts should include the following information: title, author(s), location of research, and the abstract. Abstracts must be no longer than 150 words in length..
Posters must fit in a 4' x 4' space. All posters must be in place by 1:30 p.m. Students with even numbered poster assignments must be present at posters from 2 - 3 p.m. to answer any questions. Students with odd numbered posters must be present from 3 - 4 p.m. This will allow all students time to view other posters and ask questions.
Authors of seven outstanding abstracts will be selected to participate in the plenary session. Presentations will be 12 minutes each, with three additional minutes for questions and answers. Your PowerPoint presentation can be brought on a jump drive for computer presentation. Slide and overhead projectors will also be available. If you do not wish to be considered for the plenary session, please indicate this on the web form or the enclosed form.
