Information is available on outreach programs specific to
the sciences. We currently have a
Visiting Scientist Program where faculty
members from Duquesne give talks in a high school
setting. In addition, the Undergraduate Research
Program students are participating in
various community service activities. These programs was designed by the Bayer
School of Natural & Environmental Sciences
research students.
Students interested in outreach
should contact one of the following organizations.
Many more options will be available in the coming
year.
ASSET Program : ASSET Inc.
is a National Science Foundation funded project
for improving elementary science in 16 Allegheny
County school districts. It is a partnership between
industry, educational institutions and school
districts to provide necessary materials, support,

a large volunteer week in that fall and summer,
but students are welcome at any time. In addition,
ASSET usually has a few paid internships each
