Special Student Status:

Special student status indicates a non-degree track course of study. Students entering the graduate school under this classification may take courses to fulfill work requirements, complete pre-requisites, or pursue advanced study in the fields of natural and environmental sciences. Students who demonstrate proficiency while studying as special students may apply to enter the degree-track programs.

International Students are generally ineligible for Special Student status, as International Student visa status requires that students pursue studies on a full-time basis. Eligible students who wish to apply should send all application materials to the International address above.

The following items constitute a complete application packet: 

1. This application completed in full. 

2. Official undergraduate transcript in English of undergraduate studies completed, showing the date your Bachalor's degree was conferred. Ask the registrar(s) of your undergraduate and graduate colleges or universities to send the transcript to the above address. 

3. Application fee of $10, check payable to Duquesne University. 

4. FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ONLY. Original TOEFL scores and Duquesne University Affidavit of Support Form completed in full and submitted together with required officially-certified statements of financial resources available from you to support your education at Duquesne University. (See estimates of costs for academic year available from the Office of International Affairs.) See Affidavit of Support Form for acceptable forms of financial resource certifications. No uncertified photocopies can be accepted. 

Target Deadlines: 

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications for a given semester will be accepted up until one month before the start of classes.
